RUNNER UP: Top Ama- teur photographer and overall Grand Champion Katie Co- hen of Abingdon is our run- ner up this year for Equestrian Sports too! Her image, “On- ward,” was taken at the 2023 Maryland Renaissance Festival. Here again, judges were at- tracted to the photograph’s col- ors and movement in addition to the unique moment captured by the photographer.

WINNER: Tis year’s Equestrian Sports winning photograph comes from the Top Professional pho- tographer Catie Greenwell of Hagerstown. “Stak” is an image of Jeff Michael riding Stak prior to compet- ing in Team Roping at the Bullride Mania Rodeo, held June 15 at the Washington County Ag Center in Sharpsburg. Judges loved the colors and movement of this photo as well as how the subject is in crisp focus while the other riders blur into the background.
