nual photo contest is certainly one of our favorite issues to pro- duce. This year was no exception as we re- ceived over 200 entries depicting all aspects of horses here in Mary- land. From competition shots to farm sunsets to people enjoying time with their equine friends, the variety of images entered once again shows how diverse Maryland’s horse community is. This year’s winner is a stunning portrait of a rescued horse named Mercury. The photo was taken by Bridgette Daughtery of West Virginia at The Sevens Ranch in Federick, Maryland. The image captured a lot of attention from the judges. Read more on page 13 of this issue!
