Waltham, Mass.-based Benchmark opened the welcome center for the company’s Or- chard Estate of Woodbury community. The center in Plainview, N.Y. is located just down the road from the community site currently under construction in Woodbury, N.Y. The community will off er 89 residences and will represent the company’s second communi- ty in New York; the fi rst, Whisper Woods of Smithtown located on Long Island, opened in September 2018.


Integral Senior Living, headquartered in Carlsbad, Calif., announced its plans to open Loma Clara in early 2019, an assisted living and memory care community located in Morgan Hill, Calif., at the southern tip of Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area.


Westlake Village, Calif.-based LTC Proper- ties, Inc. announced a real estate joint ven- ture relationship with an affi liate of English Meadows Senior Living Communities to ac- quire English Meadows Abingdon Campus, located in Abingdon, Va. The community, fi rst opening in 2015, off ers 74 assisted living and memory care residences.


Murfreesboro, Tenn.-based National Health Investors announced the purchase of the Isles of Vero Beach, a senior living commu- nity in Florida owned by an affi liate of Hol- iday Retirement. The community includes 157 independent living residences and 75 assisted living residences. The purchase was accomplished as part of a restructuring and extension of Holiday’s amended master lease announced in November 2018.


New Perspective Senior Living, based in Eden Prairie, Minn., announced the addition of their 22nd community with the acquisi- tion of New Perspective-Carlson Parkway lo- cated in Minnetonka, Minn. The community features 87 assisted living and 35 memory care residences and will undergo a multi-mil- lion-dollar renovation beginning this year.


Kennesaw, Ga.-based Phoenix Senior Living opened The Phoenix at James Creek in the Cumming, Ga.-area. The community off ers 90 residences with 66 for assisted living and

West Bloomfi eld, Mich.-based Waltonwood opened Waltonwood Lake Boone, a new com- munity in Raleigh, N.C. The community off ers 121 independent living residences, 39 for assisted living, and 23 for memory care.

Ventas, based in Chicago, Ill., announced an agreement, in partnership with Wexford Science & Technology, LLC, to develop a research and innovation center anchored by Arizona State University as the fi rst commit- ted development in the company’s Research & Innovation Pipeline. Located within the Phoenix Biomedical Campus, established by the City of Phoenix, the project is expected to break ground in the fi rst quarter of 2019 and open in late 2020.


Headquartered in Boston, Mass., Eversound announced a $5 million Series A fi nancing. The round was led by Ron Feinstein, former CEO at Lifeline Systems with participation from Shelter Group, Red Bear Angels, and


10X Ventures. As part of the fi nancing, Fein- stein will be joining Eversound’s Board of Di- rectors. Eversound expects to reach nearly one thousand communities by the end of 2019.


Atlanta-Ga.-based Guardian Pharmacy Ser- vices launched a new location in St. Lou- is, Mo., expanding their footprint to serve senior living communities across eastern Missouri. Founded in 2004, Guardian’s lo- cations now serve more than 110,000 resi- dents in 23 states.


SmartLinx, located in Edison, N.J., an- nounced a partnership with Second Wind Dreams. Through this corporate partner- ship, SmartLinx will provide support to help Second Wind Dreams improve the quality of life for older adults by changing the per- ception of aging and supporting residents in long-term care.
