FUTURES OF FUTURES With the acquisition of DCA Finance, ADM Investor Services B.V. are able to help large professional growers to access to the futures market. More participants will help to increase market dynamics and opportunities for the coming growing season – that is again set to be special. In contrast to MATIF for example, the EEX doesn’t have a physical delivery and relies on cash settlement instead. With an increasing portion of the European potato crop being contracted pre-harvest, it is becoming more difficult to put together national quotations. These are vital for the weekly cash settlement. The coming years – especially in Europe – will not only be challenging when it comes to growing them, pricing them is something to watch out for.
