The Loire à Vélo bike route is great for campers: wherever your campsite is, you can be guaranteed a sumptuous château not far away – just hop on your bicycle and travel along fl at, attractive trails. On the region’s western edge is the fantastic city of Nantes, with its Château des ducs de Bretagne, botanical gardens and a certain giant mechanical elephant… If you prefer pretty villages, don’t miss Meung-sur-Loire, Beaugency, Montsoreau, Montrésor, Candes-Saint- Martin and many more eye-pleasers besides. Sightseeing aside, you’ll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to campsites: family-friendly resorts with clubs for the little ones, glamping sites with yurts and tree houses, riverside spots – whatever your family enjoys most, Centre-Val de Loire has you covered. parks, zoos and farms to visit and treetop adventure trails for families to enjoy. As for foodies, this is the ‘Garden of France’, steeped in culinary tradition and superb produce.
