Youth programs
Summer RECESS is a weekly, two-day summer recreation program designed for Bellflower resident children ages 6-12 to participate in educational, creative, and athletic activities at the park during the long days of summer. Activities will include arts & crafts, educational puzzles, movies, and various games, exer- cise, or sports activities.
Summer RECESS offers 2 two-day sessions (M/W or T/TH) that will run from June 6 through August 4 at T. Mayne Thompson Park. The camp will meet Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays from 12:30pm-3:30pm. Registration fee is $15 per two-day session. Space will be limited as only a maximum of 18 participants will be accepted each session. Pre-registration is required and participants will only be able to sign up for one week at a time.

A parent/guardian must check-in their child each day at the check-in table which will be conveniently located near the parking lot. Parent/guardian must stay with the child until they have been successfully checked in and accepted by staff.
The parent/guardian will not be permitted to enter the program with their child and must return when the program has completed. A parent/guardian must check-out their child each day at the check-in table unless other arrangements are communicated to staff via a signed release form submitted when the child was checked-in.
Participants will be required to follow all guidelines as directed by assigned Recreation Leaders in accordance with the current Los Angeles County Public Health Order.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. No food, snacks, or candy allowed. It is recommended that each participant bring their own water bottle that clearly displays their name on it.
