already begun planning their summer fairs and I was pleased to see that so many were underway. Wherever you are on your planning journey, our revamped Summer Fair Checklist on p14 contains everything you need to get on track and stay there. We’ve updated our advice and also included suggestions to help families feeling the fi nancial pinch. If your school is celebrating a big anniversary, there’s a lot the PTA can
do to help make merry, leave a legacy and raise funds at the same time. Read how four schools recorded their history on p30. For me, the summer term is all about leaving the smart meter behind
and heading outside. So I was delighted to read our article on active events (p42). From a kids’ fun run in pyjamas to world champions inspiring the community, there’s sure to be something that sparks an idea for anyone wanting to promote wellbeing, fi tness and fundraising. Even if you’ve only run as far as the school gates on a busy Monday morning, it’s hard to deny that by the end of this term, most PTAs are feeling fundraising fatigue and are happy to take a well-deserved break. For those folk with boundless energy who want more, turn to p33 for ideas on how to fundraise during the long holidays.
