here’s no doubt we’re feeling the squeeze: parents giving less, volunteers struggling and funding requests piling up as school


budgets come under increasing pressure. So it’s enormously heartening to see PTAs


at the centre of so many events and activities designed to help families and bring communities together. From money-saving initiatives, such as second-hand uniform sales, to great-value


entertainment, such as circuses and movie nights, PTAs are putting smiles on faces and creating a culture of support in their schools. With a diffi cult year ahead, showing everyone what can be achieved will


be vital to engagement. Discover new ways to demonstrate impact on p29. One way to avoid fundraising fatigue on the committee is to create

coronation of King Charles III, and schools are certain to mark the occasion. Gary Spracklen, headteacher of the Prince of Wales School in Dorchester, told us: ‘The coronation is a historic event, and the only time our children will get to celebrate the crowning of a new monarch in their primary school years.’ We’ve donned our most bejewelled thinking crowns to make the PTA+ guide, from p17, as comprehensive as possible.
