Maths Whizz nominated for two

EASY FUNDRAISING Roll up, roll up!

Experience the magic of the circus without the stressful logistics of setting up a big top outside or worrying about the weather. Stardust Circus brings its fun-packed show right into your school hall. The performance features comedy, magic illusions, mascot

characters and international performers, hand-picked for their work in indoor venues. Stardust travels with a full circus set, sound and lighting rig and can re-create the atmosphere of the big top in under an hour. Performances last for 90 minutes, and the circus will be cleared from your hall half an hour after the last show ends, allowing every pupil to experience the show on the same day. The performance can be tailored to any size of venue, with or

without a stage. Sell tickets at between £8 and £10 per person and your PTA smiles will be as wide as those of the children. Visit stardustcircus.co.uk/schools/ to find out more.

education awards Online maths tutor provider Whizz Education has been shortlisted for awards in two categories – Class Aid or Educator Support and Primary Digital Learning Product – Numeracy & Maths – at this year’s Bett Awards. Schools director Emma Ringe told

us, ‘We’re thrilled to have been recognised for the improvement Maths Whizz makes to learning outcomes. ‘Whizz Education has been

DESIGN OUR COVER COMPETITION And the winner is...

Congratulations to 10-year-old James Bambrook from Hamstel Junior School in Southend-on-Sea. As well as having his winning design printed on our front cover, James also wins a bench kit (for pupils to build themselves) from Pentagon Play for his school. James said: ‘I bought a set of artist colouring pens and pencils last year and I love all the colours. I also enjoy gardening and I’ve got my Cubs Gardener Badge for growing vegetables. I can’t wait to see the finished bench and to know that after I leave the school, children will be able to sit and make friends on it.’ Dominic Turner, marketing director at Pentagon Play described James’s picture

as ‘impressive, and a worthy winner’. Well done to everyone who entered the competition. We all enjoyed seeing your lovely designs.

we also provide professional insights into pupils’ progress. ‘More than 1.5 million children have benefited from Maths Whizz, and independent research demonstrates that children who learn with the Maths Whizz tutor for 45-60 minutes a week increase their maths age by an average of 18 months in the first year.’ Final Bett Awards winners will be announced in January 2022. whizz.com/schools
