ant to give your Year 6 pupils a memorable send-off this summer? From farewell parties to cute keepsakes, PTAs are spoilt for


choice when it comes to leavers’ gifts and events – and it’s never too early to start planning. You’ll need plenty of time to source a supplier, drum up some interest (especially if parents are covering costs), and get any items, such as mugs or T-shirts, made. Think about how you’ll organise it among PTA members: can one willing volunteer do everything or do


you need a sub-committee to juggle multiple gifts and events?


WHO PAYS? Some think leavers’ gifts


aren’t an appropriate use of PTA funds as they benefit a specific group. But if the PTA does it every year, all pupils


eventually benefit. If parents pay, see if the PTA can support those who can’t afford it.
