Welcome I
already working on a great issue for the autumn term. Look after yourselves and your families.
’d been planning this letter for a while. I planned to talk about bunting and ice-cream and summer fair planning and to
try to get you all in the mood for the excitement to come. However, we’ve been stopped in our
tracks by the COVID-19 lockdown. It’s not going to be quite the summer of fun we had anticipated. As I write this letter, most schools and childcare facilities are closed to all but the children of key workers for the foreseeable future. Our PTA Facebook network has more
than 10,000 members: engaged parents and unexpected homeschoolers, like you, who can offer great support during this challeging time. Head over there to ask questions, share tips and help others. You may not be fundraising in the same way (or at all) this term but we’re sure you’ll be supporting people in your community, and our county Facebook pages allow you to chat with other PTAs local to you. We realise that many of the events ideas in this issue are no longer
relevant for this year, but please do keep hold of the magazine for that point in the future when we can at last gather together again. Spare a thought for our advertisers too – many are small companies that
will be hugely affected by this. The small team at PTA+ packs a big punch, but we can’t do it without support from our advertisers. Please do use their services when you’re back up and running and looking for ideas. We hope schools will be back by September, if not before, and we’re
