pictures of home photo contest
In November of last year, UNHCR Canada posed the question, “What does home look like to you?” and asked people to submit photos that depicted their answers.
We received entries from across the country, each one unique. For some, home is a memory. For others, home means the people close to them. For refugees, home may not even exist any longer and can be seen not as a physical place, but as hope for a fresh start.
We’re proud to announce the following winners of our Pictures of Home photo contest, and congratulate them on their wonderful images. Thanks to everyone who participated!
PEOPLE’S CHOICE
“Home is a place where differences bring us all together. Home is where children welcome you with cheers and hugs. Home is where you share a cup of coffee or dinner with new friends and where language does not matter.” – Nadine Deleury, Ontario
