Donut worry, be happy! Surrounded by the smells and sights of freshly baked donuts, Jimmy Keeter, CPA, CGMA, held up a variety box specially prepared for him. Te CFO of Daylight Donut Flour Company, LLC,


was taking treats to his team.


Founded in 1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Daylight Donut Flour Company began when Tommy and Lucille Day worked to create a new donut mix that was distinctly light and flavorful. Te Day’s light donut recipe became Daylight Donuts, which now has almost a thousand retail outlets in 28 states and nearly a dozen international markets.


Tat the company continues to grow and prosper is owed in no small part to Keeter’s service.


CPAFOCUS: How long have you been with your company and what are your main responsibilities? Keeter: I’ve been employed by Daylight Donut Flour Company, LLC for the past 28 years and have served as chief financial officer the past 21 years. Our department handles all financial reporting, accounting, payroll, human resources, employee benefits administration and assists with all levels of daily management.


CPAFOCUS: What are your favorite hobbies? Keeter: I love to hunt and fish and spend approximately 50-60 days per year in the woods or on the water.


CPAFOCUS: Which emoji do you use constantly? Keeter: I very seldom use emojis, but “thumbs up” is the most used by me.


CPAFOCUS: What is the first app you look at in the morning and why? Keeter: I don’t spend much time looking at apps, but the most used by me are weather, news and sports.


CPAFOCUS: If you could only pick three bands to listen to for a month, who would make the cut? Keeter: George Strait, John Anderson and Kenny Chesney


CPAFOCUS: What was your favorite gift that you’ve ever received? Keeter: My son and two daughters


CPAFOCUS: When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up? Keeter: A fireman!


CPAFOCUS: What would you be if you were not a CPA? Keeter: A fireman!


CPAFOCUS: What is your biggest pet peeve right now? Keeter: People of all ages, consumed with their cell phones.


CPAFOCUS: What chore or task is your least favorite? Keeter: Weeding flower beds!
