merican Trails is seeking motivated volun- teer NRT Ambassadors that are willing to visit as many of the National Recreation


Trails in their region as possible over the next year, to gather data and identify issues on these great trails.


The NRT Program


NRTs are some of America’s finest trails. With over 1,200 trails in the database, NRTs include trails for all users types (equestrian, atv/utv, motorcycle, snowmobile, hiking, mountain biking, etc.), are located in urban and rural set- tings, and are managed by a variety of federal, state, and local managing agencies.


As the manager of the database of these great trails,


American Trails is launching a new program to organize NRT Ambassadors to inform, preserve, and protect these national treasures. If you would like to apply to be among the first cadre of NRT Ambassadors, please contact us now!


The Ambassadors Volunteer NRT Ambassadors are responsible for


reviewing the data gathered on the NRTs in their assigned regions, gathering data that is outdated and/or missing, and hiking the length of each trails and uploading center- line GPX data for each trail. Individuals interested in volunteering for the NRT Trail Ambassador program must meet these requirements.           session (three hours)
