t certainly has been a busy time since the last issue of Welding World, and there’s no resting on our laurels here at the Welding World Association. We
welcomed fellow exhibitors and show visitors on our stand in the ‘Welding Zone’ at the recent MACH 2024 exhibition, run by the MTA. The show provided a perfect opportunity to catch up with many of the key players in the welding and general engineering industries, with the chance to communicate with old friends and new. Speaking of new, we are pleased to welcome six new and
returning member companies back into the association – you can find further details of these on pages 20 and 21. The show also provided the ideal platform to highlight the association’s newly updated website, and the feedback from those who had a demonstration of the website was very positive. Bollinger Champagne was won by Adele Shortman, Partner at Manchester-based offices of legal experts Weightmans.
Save the day
On the 17 July 2024, we have organised a focused ‘Laser Welding’ networking event for WWA members only, being hosted by member company IPG Photonics. The event will be held at the MTC in Ansty Business Park, Coventry where the specialist laser manufacturer will comprehensively cover all aspects of this pertinent topic. Alongside process and safety considerations, IPG will also be organising live demonstrations of this technology in action so we can get up close and see what all the hype is about.
