of industrial marking solutions for all areas of industry. Particular highlights at the show were the Markal valve action paint markers and Thermomelt heat stik markers, both of which help to make light work of the welding process,” the company explained. AWD member Prestige Industrial Pipework Equipment
(PIPE) Ltd exhibited an extensive range of pipeworking equipment and tools for the set-up and efficient welding and fabrication of all kind of pipework . The ranges include Fit Up, an extensive range of welding alignment clamps and fit-up solutions that have been designed and developed around the problems faced by pipe fitters and welders. In addition, Pipe Ltd manufactures a comprehensive
range of Pipe Jack Stands, designed to support (and transport) pipes of all sizes and weight, whether on-site or in the workshop. Its range of Pipe Stands are weight load- tested and certified, and are CE-rated and marked. The company has also developed a full range of pipe
purging systems from inflatable bag systems and silicone disc systems, to water-soluble pre-formed dams, weld purge monitors (for constantly reading the depleting level oxygen) and tungsten electrode grinders designed to give accurate points on tungsten electrodes for consistent stable welding arcs. AWD member RapidWelding Supplies also exhibited at
MACH in the Welding World Village. Rapid now offers a UK-wide welder rental service and is ready to hire equipment for every welding application in any industry sector. On 3 January 2014, it completed the purchase of Bryant Welderental Ltd. “Increasing the Rapid family and group of companies has
resulted in a substantially increased portfolio and, with a huge stock inventory, Rapid is now able to offer access to a wide range of products and services including welding equipment, consumables and an extensive range of welding-related products from leading brands such as Miller, Lincoln Electric, Plymovent, Kemppi, Hypertherm and Elga,” the company toldWeldingWorld. AWDmember The Validation Centre (TVC) attended MACH
for the second time. On its booth in theWeldingWorld Village, it showcased its Mini Arc Logger II (MAL II), designed for a welding engineer or inspector to carry out spot checks on welding parameters. Battery power means the MAL II can be used in remote locations with no need for an external power source. TVC also officially launched two new hand-held units,

the NFM2 and the WFM. The NFM2 or Nozzle Flow Meter is designed to measure welding shielding gas right at the welding nozzle. Its Wire Feed Meter (WFM) is available in either standard or advanced models and uses TVC’s wire feed
encoder probe. It is designed for checks on welding wire feed units (GMAW and SAW etc.) using wire from 0.8mm up to 4mm diameter, and feed speeds of up to 30m/min. TVC also showcased all new and existing systems on live welding demonstrations using the K-tig welding process from WB Alloys. AWD member,Weldlogic, displayed a range of glove-
box machines at MACH 2014. “The benefits associated with using a glove box are cleaner
welds, free from cracking due to atmospheric contamination, and less downtime due to reworking of parts," it told WeldingWorld. Weldlogic Europe Ltd offers a range of standard and
custom glove boxes for use within these industries. Glove box shells and antechambers are manufactured in stainless steel for demanding duty requirements. These fall into two categories: Purge and Recirculated. For full details, see the product review on page 14. Weldability Sif, an AWD member company in the
WeldingWorld Village, showcased its virtual reality weld simulator at MACH 2014. Visitors were able to see the technology in action and learn more about how it enables trainees to develop their skills in the security of a simulated environment. Virt UWeld comes pre-loaded withWeldability’s
Fabrication &Welding eLearning package to offer a complete training programme, including real-time assessment and information on welding procedures. AWD would like to acknowledge the AWD members
