Discover the magic of childminding
Coram Pacey is inviting families to discover the magic of childminding by celebrating the vital role childminders play in supporting children and families
For many parents, childcare is about more than securing a place. It’s about finding someone they trust to provide safe, nurturing care and support their child’s development. Working mainly from their
own homes,
childminders offer flexible childcare in smaller settings, where children benefit from strong relationships and personalised attention. Parents often value the family-like
environment childminders create. One parent said their childminder feels “much more like an extended family than childcare”, while another praised the reassurance of knowing their child is “truly known and understood”. For children with additional needs,
the individual care childminders provide can be especially valuable, helping families feel confident that their child’s needs are being met.

London-based women’s healthcare
Miss Roopa Bangari is a consultant gynaecologist at London Gynaecology, Blackheath Hospital and Chelsfield Park Hospital
With over 20 years of experience, she helps women across London navigate some of the most worrying and complex health concerns they may face, from adolescent gynaecological issues to menstrual problems and menopause. Working within the NHS and in
private practice in London, Roopa has built a reputation for combining clinical excellence with a
calm,
compassionate approach to patient care. Her expertise spans a broad range of gynaecological issues, including abnormal cervical smears, menstrual disorders, fibroids, pelvic pain, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS/ PMOS) and menopause management. As an accredited colposcopist,
she’s supported countless women referred following abnormal smear results — a stage she acknowledges can be deeply unsettling for patients.
Roopa is also an accredited
menopause specialist. Her approach centres on thorough investigation, clear explanations and structured follow-up, ensuring women understand exactly what to expect at every step. Her clinical training took her
from obstetrics and gynaecology specialisation in India to the NHS in 2007, where she’s since gained extensive experience across major hospitals in southeast London. Today, she continues her consultant work in the NHS (at Medway Maritime Hospital) while also holding the role of lead for clinical governance, a position dedicated to upholding the highest standards of patient safety and care quality. Roopa’s
contribution to
the profession hasn’t gone unrecognised. She’s received a Clinical Excellence Award, along with several commendations for her work in medical education. She also plays a key teaching role for medical students at King’s College London, for which she’s been named Education Supervisor of the Year and received multiple commendations from the university’s dean for her teaching excellence. Colleagues
and patients alike
describe Roopa as a clinician who places shared decision-making and long-term wellbeing at the heart of her practice — tailoring both surgical and non-surgical treatment options to each woman’s individual circumstances and stage of life.
