Coronation celebrations in the ‘green’ City
To commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III, the City of London is turning ‘green’ in honour of the king’s passion for the environment
With 2,000 years of history and lots of thrilling things to do, the City of London is the perfect backdrop to this momentous occasion. From 2 to 7 May, visitors are
welcome to join a series of exciting events and activations across streets and green spaces in the City of London, in Aldgate, Cheapside, the Eastern City and Fleet Street. From stunning floral displays and
greenery, street party lunches, well- being sessions, gardening work- shops and big picnics — there’s so much happening in the City to enjoy.
Aldgate Connect BID To celebrate the Coronation the community of Aldgate are coming together for a Big Lunch on Aldgate Square on 7 May. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic and take part in some fun chil- dren’s activities and entertainment. Some refreshments will be available on the Square.

Cheapside Business Alliance Cheapside will be decorating trees with beautiful floral displays along one of
their main streets. Cheap- side is a well-known destination for
shopping in the City, so bag some of your high street favourites at One New Change or indulge in a spot of luxury at Te Royal Exchange. St Paul’s Cathedral are hosting
a free Choral Evensong in Tanks- giving for the Coronation of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Te Queen Consort. All are welcome to attend the free festive service on 7 May, from 3-4pm, with music by the Choir of St Paul’s Cathedral featuring celebratory works by Parry and Handel.

Eastern City BID EC BID is inviting visitors to enjoy some peace and relaxation at Seething Lane Garden from 2 to 7 May. Visitors and workers are invited to take part in a series of yoga workshops and experience one of the City’s calming green spaces in a new way. If you’re looking for a spot of lunch, go along for some tradi- tional style picnics with delicious hampers kindly provided in part- nership with the Four Seasons Hotel London. Limited places are avail- able. Tere will also be a floral crown display on the lawn for the perfect photo opportunity. Take a moment to pause and
reflect, by immersing in nature in a mindful way, listen to the digital forest bathing audio soundscapes and soak in the atmosphere around you. Te practice of forest bathing has a whole range of benefits for your physical and mental health. EC BID is also hosting two free
lunchtime gardening workshops led by Jar and Fern to create living wreaths at St Botolph-without- Bishopsgate church from 12.30pm to 1.30pm on Wednesday 3 and Tursday 4 May.

Bream’s Buildings and Gough Square in Fleet Street Quarter will celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III by hosting its first ever BIG Picnic event on Wednesday 3 and Tursday 4 May, from 12pm-4pm on each day.
Te series of lively outdoor celebra- tions will be guaranteed to spice up the lunch breaks of workers and visitors, and get them in the Coro- nation spirit through food, fun and festivities.
ST PAULS ONE NEW CHANGE Te BIG Picnic’s floral theme,
inspired by the gardens of High- grove, and in honour of King Charles III’s admiration of wildflowers, will spotlight King Charles III’s most favourite blooms and create a quin- tessentially British summertime atmosphere ahead of the big day. Visitors to the BIG Picnic will also walk away with their very own wild- flower seeds to help bring the beauty of English gardens and agriculture a little closer to home.
