The Flåm Railway A 12.5-mile branch line from Flåm to Myrdal, this famously steep railway offers a front-row seat to rivers, waterfalls and snow-capped peaks. Tim says, “Te scenery is spec-
tacular. Te train winds through 20 tunnels — 18 of them hand-dug — and clings to mountainsides on dramatic horseshoe curves.”
The Raumabanen Railway Running 71 miles from Dombås to Åndalsnes, this line follows the River Rauma and crosses the famous Kylling Bridge.
Tim says, “Just beyond Verma, the
train reverses through the Stavem Tunnel — it’s a thrill. Look out for Trollveggen (Troll Wall), Europe’s tallest vertical rock face. Film crews love this line.”
Inlandsbanan Stretching from Kristinehamn to Gällivare, this scenic Swedish route showcases serene lakes, forests and tumbling streams. Tim says, “Tere’s real community
spirit onboard. Te conductor offers commentary, the driver welcomes visitors in the cab and we stop for lunch at a remote little restaurant — it’s unlike any other journey.”
