The new Pullman Class


When the Bernina Express makes its way across the main ridge of the Alps, the journey itself becomes an experience.


From the 2026 summer season, the new Pullman Class will add a spe- cial form of travel to the world-fa- mous Unesco World Heritage route between St Moritz and Tirano. A journey in a carefully restored Pull- man coach from the 1930s combines historical travel culture with con- temporary comfort, personal care, onboard service and lunch at a vine- yard in Valtellina to create a stylish all-round experience. Te Bernina Express has been de-


lighting and enchanting people from all over the world for more than half a century. Te track on which the legendary train travels is the highest railway connection over the Alps that runs all year round, and has carried the Unesco World Heritage label since 2008. Te new Pullman Class is a sep- arate travel class on the Bernina Ex- press. A maximum of 32 passengers travel per journey and experience crossing the Alps in a quiet, stylish atmosphere — and with selected additional services that enhance the travel experience.


CULINARY DELIGHTS & SERVICE INCLUDED IN THE ITINERARY A key component of the day trip is the culinary and service-oriented over- all package of the Pullman Class. A concierge accompanies the trip and is personally available to passengers throughout the journey. Along the way, passengers are treated to drinks and snacks at their seats. Upon arrival in Tirano, the journey continues to the La Gatta vineyard in Valtellina, where a lunch with personal wine accompa- niment and an optional guided tour of the wine cellar are on the agenda before returning to the Engadin. Te Pullman Class combines rail travel, service and regional cuisine to cre- ate an end-to-end travel experience that appeals equally to gourmets and those interested in travel culture.


MOMENTS ON THE MOVE A photo stop is planned for Alp Grüm. From here, you can enjoy unique views of the Palü Glacier as well as Val Po- schiavo to the south. Between Tirano and St Moritz, an open scenic carriage completes the journey.

BETWEEN THE HIGH MOUNTAINS & THE SOUTH Te Bernina Line connects St Moritz in the Engadin with Tirano in the Ital- ian Valtellina and crosses the Berni- na Pass to Ospizio Bernina station at 2,253 metres above sea level. Pullman Class can be booked from 1 June to 25 October as a day trip return or as a single journey between St Moritz and Tirano.
