Cornwall is getting a makeover with government funds for regeneration and the promise of thousands of new homes. And, as Andrea Dean fi nds, change has already begun

Any accusations of inaccessibility now fall fl at as road and rail links have improved, Heathrow’s just over an hour from Newquay airport and virtually everywhere enjoys superfast broadband — a factor that’s contributed to the success of Cornwall’s fast-growing tech sector, which is centred on Truro and Redruth. Major changes are in the


pipeline as four towns — St Ives, Truro, Penzance and Camborne — have been nominated to receive government funds for regeneration, and between now and 2030, more than 52,000 new homes are being built right across the county.


SURFS UP Among the current crop of new builds is Atlantic Terrace in New Polzeath on the north coast, within the Golden Triangle of Polzeath, Rock and Padstow, a mecca for food-lovers and surfers alike. T e


ith its craggy coastline, hidden coves, wild moorland and beautiful beaches, there’s no


two- and three-bedroom waterfront apartments boast panoramic views, underfl oor heating and balconies or terraces, and residents also have exclusive use of the ground fl oor Surf Shack for storing surf boards and drying wetsuits. Prices start at £875k, via Savills. Woodlands in Newquay, another
