St Mungo’s and Crisis are working in outreach to provide shelter, healthcare and provision, which is especially needed during the pandemic. As people lose jobs, hours or have salary reductions as companies battle to stay afloat, many people will find themselves in a precarious living situation. a nationwide network of food banks to help provide emergency food and support to people in poverty, while also campaigning for change to end the need for food banks in the UK. A third of people who visit food banks are in employment, but their income doesn’t cover the cost of essentials, while another third is struggling to access benefits due to delays or changes. facing mounting pressure due to the NHS’s focus on fighting coronavirus. Te Stroke Association, for example, has reported a decrease in people calling 999 — with no evidence that strokes are decreasing, they assume people are avoiding calling for an ambulance even though they need it.
