Excuse me while I check my thesaurus for another word for ‘breathtaking’. It was simply… Magnificent! Agantija Archaeological was

Park next on the

itinerary to pass on some bricklaying advice from the two hours I worked on a building site in 2007 before quitting due to fatigue. But if I wanted to have a chat with the foreman of these two temples, made up of many 50 tonne limestone rocks, I’d have to go with Bill & Ted in their phone- box all the way back to 3600 BC. No can do, as I’ve got a reservation for lunch at Ta’ Rikardu Restaurant in the Citadel. Here, Rikardu produces

his own wine and cheese from his vineyard and farm, selling and serving it in his shop/restaurant along with other local products. The food and drinks were sensational,

areas, than with the help of Rolling Geeks, in an electric car that makes you feel like you’re in a Sean Connery movie. We were zooming at 10mph up the hills and charming countryside quicker than you can say, “Does this thing not have 3rd gear?” It was a joy to drive a tiny-Tesla for an hour, with an audio guided tour in whatever language you prefer. I picked Portuguese and nodded every 30 seconds as if I knew what it was saying, hoping to look more cultured. After fixing my wind-swept golden locks

in a nearby public WC, it was off to Don Berto Restaurant, located in one of the oldest cities in Malta, Vittoriosa, sitting exactly in the waterfront and marina. It was in the surrounding gift shops, where I picked up some gifts for my family back home, hoping it would cushion the blow of me being away for four days. I even brought home some olive oil and can officially confirm that from this day forth, I am proud to be known in these parts as, ‘A wee bread dipper’. I can’t get enough of it. It’s one of the many things that remind me of my visit to one of the most beautiful places on Planet Earth and if, in my later days, the nursing home my kids end up putting me in, is in Valletta or Mdina, then I’m sure I’ll leave a happy man! Malta, until next time…

The Three Cities are what made me completely fall head-over-guddies in love with Malta.
