Nicki Tempest-Mitchell Appointed to ABTA Board of Directors
THE ABTA Board of Directors has appointed Nicki Tempest-Mitchell, with immediate effect.
Nicki has been Managing Director of the Barrhead Travel Group since January 2025 and has over 36 years of experience across the UK travel industry, including roles at TUI, Royal Caribbean Group and Thomas Cook. Barrhead Travel Group is Scotland’s largest independent travel group and one of the largest in the UK as a whole. Mark Tanzer, Chief Executive Officer,

Sad Passing of Travel Industry Stalwart
THE team at Northern Ireland Travel News were deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of well-known travel agent, Will Dunlop.
Will Dunlop started his career in the Belfast Telegraph, then moved to Bray Travel before starting his own travel agency, Dunlop Travel, growing to three branches across the region in Newtownards, Downpatrick.

A well-known and highly respected figure within the travel industry, Will Dunlop was inducted into the Northern Ireland Roll of Honour at the Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards back in 2007. A legend within golfing circles in Newtownards, as past president and captain of Scrabo Golf Club, he was a regular amongst the travel golf society. Will Dunlop’s funeral was held
on
Monday 12th January 2025 at Christ Church, Carrowdore.
Our thoughts are with his entire family circle, including his two daughters Kerri-Lyn, Leah, and his five grand children at this sad time.
Popular Cruise Brands Make the Move to New Travel Agent Platform
HOLLAND America Line and Seabourn have enhanced their booking services by moving to the OneSource travel agent platform. OneSource is currently used by Holland America Line and Seabourn’s sister brands, P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess Cruises. The platform offers array of sales tools and resources; this includes POLAR Online, FlightEase and Plain Sailing booking tools. Agents can also find destination guides, product planners and marketing toolkits on the platform.
