most mornings I started off with a coffee and quick bite of breakfast in a nearby cafe, before simply heading out on a stroll around the city centre. Personally,
I
found Amsterdam to be an exceptionally walkable city, where a leisurely twenty minute stroll from Dam Square could find you in the heart of Vondelpark, or at the foot of the Rijksmuseum.
Spring is perhaps the best time to visit Amsterdam, picturesque and fresh, the landscapes mirroring that of a postcard. Visions of bright tulip fields surrounding Dutch windmills float into your mind, encouraged by the mild and pleasant weather. To catch a glimpse of the city in full bloom, one might long to travel into the countryside or a neighbouring city to get a further insight into the Dutch lifestyle.

quality museums and relaxed culture, Amsterdam might be the prime spot that pops into your mind when you think of a spring city break.

and progressive city, Amsterdam has a range of tourist attractions to visit. However, unlike most other European cities, Amsterdam is a city break which
moves a slower pace, with consistent and frequent rail and tram services, there is no need to rush between one tourist attraction and the other. Taking a beat to enjoy the city’s beauty and cafe culture is encouraged, the capital of the Netherlands is best enjoyed at your own rhythm.
This laid-back and relaxed atmosphere is what I love most about Amsterdam, during my time I stayed slightly outside of the city centre, utilising the area’s tram services to venture into the Dam Square, the ideal starting point for your days in Amsterdam. Taking the day in your stride,
