This event will take place in majestic Santa Fe, New Mexico at the La Fonda on the Plaza, which is part of Santa Fe’s history that predates American independence. This hotel is “one of a kind” and features skylights, terracotta tile and tin chandeliers. The headboard in each room is unique and designed by a different Santa Fe artist. The hotel walls have paintings representative of the work of local Santa Fe artists, over the decades. The hotel offers docent led tours of this historical artwork; request must be made at the consignor’s desk.

Monday afternoon will encompass traveling back in time to some of the most unusual and interesting ancient ruins in the Southwest, featuring petroglyphs and pictographs. Bandelier National Monument offers plenty of wildlife and mountains rising to 10,200 feet. We will descend into a canyon

filled with the ruins of the Anasazi Indians. Easy paths along the Pueblo dwellings will not only amaze you with the natural beauty of your surroundings but also give you the opportunity to peak into one of these ancient homes. As a bonus, we will take a bus ride through Los Alamos, the sight of the Manhattan Project recently featured in the film, Oppenheimer. We will hear details surrounding this historic site and be able to imagine that life changing time of history.
Our guest event consists of a walking tour of historical Santa Fe. You will visit the Santa Fe Plaza, the Palace of the Governor and the breathtaking Loretto Chapel with its miraculous staircase. With over 400 years of history, which includes spectacular art and culture, you will be dazzled and entertained learning about this “Different City”. Lunch on the patio of the Santacafe, is included. The boulder-strewn courtyard and lifelike animal sculptures, will magically transport you to another place in time.
Join us for our Tuesday evening
event at the Compound restaurant. Owned and operated by Chef Mark Kiffin, winner of the James Beard award for Best Chef of the Southwest 2005, who celebrated his 23rd anniversary of ownership this year. The Compound has a heritage rich in history and regional influences. Using traditional and fresh contemporary ingredients of Santa Fe, as well as some Mediterranean ones, Chef Kiffen makes mouth-waterings entrees that makes the Compound a fine dining restaurant in Santa Fe.
