Armil CFS, Inc. Custom Furnaces and More
E
stablished in 1968, Armil CFS, Inc. has been serving the investment casting industry for more than
35 years. Founded by Richard Marek, Armil,
Inc.’s target market was material handling. In 1980, Marek partnered with Walter Parduhn founding Ceramic Fiber Specialties to resell ceramic fiber and high temperature refractory products. Parduhn’s background in high-temperature engineered materials created an opportunity for Armil Inc. Utilizing their engineering and fabrication capabilities they expanded into the manufacture of high temperature process furnaces. Their initial venture resulted in the manufacture of two burn- out pusher and three box furnaces for Casting Engineers. Armil, Inc. and Ceramic Fiber
Specialties merged in 1982 to become Armil CFS, Inc. Marek retired in 1994 and, while Parduhn bought out the partnership, both families remain involved. In 2008, President Kevin Finnery (Parduhn’s nephew); Chief
®
Financial Officer Andrea Odom, (Marek’s daughter); and Vice President of Sales Jeff Parduhn, (Parduhn’s son) purchased the company. Armil CFS’s commitment to burn
out/dewax and preheat furnace technology has led to many innovations. Integral incineration pusher furnaces which use the time/temperature curve to achieve burnout within the furnace chamber eliminating the requirement for an afterburner. Recuperative combustion systems that capture waste gasses and preheat combustion air for high efficiency production. Tru Heat ™ box furnaces that have a temperature range of 450º F to 2250º F with an optional bolt-on flue or afterburner for ease of converting from a preheat to a burnout furnace. Their commitment to providing
custom equipment through the use of technology is evidenced in the Armil CFS engineering department. Combustion, programming, electrical, and mechanical engineers make up the 10 man full time engineering staff.

Employing 3D modeling in their design is a recent example of technology that maximizes engineering quality by minimizing repetitive engineering. In addition to offering custom
furnaces, Armil CFS provides redesign services for refractory, combustion and control, safety compliance and increased production retrofits. As a long standing member of the Investment Casting Institute, Armil CFS stands committed to serving the needs of manufacturing through innovation.
