Dan Bizzarro and Bill Jordan went
to work at BIMAC while still in college, and Roger Reedy joined BIMAC in 1973. These three took ownership of the company in 1986. In the early 1980’s, BIMAC added
an investment casting operation, which grew rapidly. After a facility expansion was completed in 1981, a non- destructive testing facility was added, providing radiography, penetrant, and magnetic particle inspection services. A third expansion added a machining facility with in-house tooling for completely machined castings. Currently
in the 2020s, BIMAC
has an innovative “Rapid Prototyping” capability, a cutting-edge technology that distinguishes BIMAC from other foundries. Rapid Prototyping (RP) is a general term given to a host of related additive
manufacturing technologies
and processes, including 3-D printing and powder binder jetting technology, and is used to generate castings from 3D CAD data sources. This technology allows BIMAC to make pattern-less castings, dramatically cutting lead- time and cost of castings made from traditional investment tooling. Thanks to today’s RP technology, castings can be made with any geometric complexity
