5 Summary


30 The site for the converter station building benefits from excellent existing screening. Additional screening can easily be accommodated within the site which is in keeping with the existing landscape character.


31 The landscape and visual impact assessment concluded that with effective mitigation, only the upper elevations and roofs will be visible.


32 It is considered that a simple agricultural form of building is appropriate for this location and that design considerations should focus on choice and articulation of facing materials.


33 Integration of the building into the local landscape will be further assisted by detailed landscape design including the planting using a selection of appropriate indigenous species to increase site biodiversity.
