WEEK-LONG ADVENTURES touring

adventure

Less than a week, S

less than a grand

A week away needn’t break the bank. Joanna Booth rounds up tours that stay under four figures

ome clients are short on time, others on cash – and some may want to put a limit on both. There is plenty out there for

those who want to keep their week away at the value end of the touring market, with a wide range of European trips where customers can travel for less – and sometimes much less – than £1,000 per head.

Coach Travelling by coach is often a sure-fire way of keeping costs down. Leger Holidays’ four-day Beautiful Bruges & Ghent starts from £299, with three nights in a three-star hotel in Bruges and a tour of Ghent included in the price. Driving does take longer than flying, but that doesn’t mean clients can’t go a decent distance in a week. Shearings’ seven-day Austria and the Tyrol All Inclusive, from £446, spends four nights staying on an all-inclusive basis in the peaceful Tyrolean town of Kirchberg, with excursions to Salzburg and Innsbruck, and overnight stays in Germany and Belgium to break up the journey. Of course, clients needn’t go abroad

to enjoy touring by coach. Titan Travel’s five-day The Jurassic Coast is based in Bournemouth, and uses coaches to take guests to Sherborne Castle and the Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Palace House & Gardens. The trip, from £729, includes a cruise along the coast from Poole to Swanage and a journey on a heritage steam train to Corfe Castle. Clients reach Bournemouth in style, collected from their front door as part of Titan’s VIP pick-up service.
