NEWS 1917 film boosts Leger tours

The Oscar-winning First World War movie 1917 has boosted interest in Leger Holidays’ battlefields tours in France and Belgium. Ashley Dellow, head of retail sales, said the film had generated interest in the way the 1914-18 centenary commemorations had done. “Our battlefield tours offer customers an unrivalled experience, learning about the realities of war alongside our experienced team of specialist guides,” he said. Filmgoers who want to find out more can book the All Quiet on the Western Front coach tour, which costs from £329. The three or four-night holiday explores Ypres, the Somme, the Thiepval Memorial at the Menin Gate and Sanctuary Wood Trench Museum in Flanders. Leger tours also explore sites associated with the Second World War and other conflicts including the Battle of Waterloo, the Vietnam War and American Civil War.
