two ships from HAL Fred Olsen Cruise Lines is to buy R-Class vessels Amsterdam and Rotterdam from Holland America Line. The ships will be renamed Bolette and Borealis, and will take its ocean fleet to six ships. They will enter service later this year after a rebrand. HAL has also sold S-Class ships Maasdam and Veendam to an undisclosed buyer.

Princess Cruises has revealed that MedallionClass ships, which use the OceanMedallion technology, will be sailing its new itineraries in the Caribbean and the Panama Canal for 2021-22. MedallionClass ships are sailing the line’s autumn

2021 to spring 2022 cruise season, which went on sale this week. In the Caribbean, Caribbean Princess, Crown Princess, Enchanted Princess, Island Princess and Sky Princess offer cruisers a choice of 109 departures on 17 itineraries, ranging from three to 20 days, taking guests to 27 cruise destinations in 23 countries in the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean. Ports of call on seven-day cruises include St

Thomas, St Maarten, Grand Turk, San Juan and St Kitts in the Eastern Caribbean and Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Belize City and Roatán in the Western Caribbean. Both sailings visit Princess’s private island resort, Princess Cays, in the Bahamas. Princess’ 10-day Southern Caribbean sailings on Enchanted Princess and Sky Princess visit Bonaire,

Viking Cruises reveals new ship for

the Mekong launching August 2021 Viking Cruises is building a new ship to sail on the Mekong river from August 2021. The 80-guest Viking Saigon will sail the line’s Magnificent Mekong itinerary between Kampong Cham, Cambodia, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 30. Brittany Ferries opens bookings on

UK- France routes for next year Brittany Ferries has begun taking bookings for 2021 to kickstart its long-term recovery. Reservations for routes between the UK and France, excluding Portsmouth- St Malo and Portsmouth-Le Havre, can now be made for crossings up to the end of October 2021. Bookings for crossings to Spain can be made from this week. The resumed passenger services on June 29.
