Jet2 unveils big expansion in year-round capacity to Cyprus

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have confirmed Cyprus as a key year-round destination by launching their largest summer and winter programmes to the island. Capacity for this summer is up by 16% year on year


to almost 550,000 seats to Paphos and Larnaca, with 56 peak season weekly flights between the UK and Cyprus. Capacity for winter 2019-20 is up by 45%, with


200,000 seats on sale. Flights this summer serve Paphos from all nine


Jet2.com bases and Larnaca from all except Belfast. Flights for winter to Paphos will operate from all


nine UK bases, including Belfast for the first time, while winter Larnaca flights will only be from Stansted. Tour operating arm Jet2holidays said it had had


meetings with hoteliers and representatives from the Cypriot tourism industry. Chief executive Steve Heapy pledged to continue


working with hotel partners and the tourist board to showcase the appeal of Cyprus as both a summer and winter destination. He said: “In today’s environment, more and more


people are recognising the benefits of a package holiday, which means that our philosophy of puting the customer first stands us in great stead to capitalise on this demand. “Cyprus is a critical destination, so we will keep


working with the industry to atract holidaymakers in the summer and winter, filling Cypriot hotels all year with customers on a package holiday they can trust.” Meanwhile, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have


increased the number of winter 2019-20 trips to Iceland from Birmingham, East Midlands and Newcastle. It now offers 35 three-night or four-night trips to


Iceland from Birmingham, East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle. jet2.com
