Story: TTNG chief hails government support for saving many travel businesses We live in a country where industry leaders have to praise the government for fear that if they don’t, next time it will not listen or, worse, will punish them. Furlough is a permanent government policy in several European countries, and didn’t have to be brought in with a fanfare like here, because they have governments that look after their citizens. Robin H
Michelle Murray @MMurray_TC Travel Counsellors I have had a worrying conversation with several clients who think their under-12s have to be vaccinated for travel. No country has that requirement and most countries will permit under-12s entry with no jab, no test and no form. Only Disney Cruise Line and a handful of cruise lines do.
Miles Morgan @MMTMan Miles Morgan Travel Reviewed the first six months’ sales of my latest new shop – it has been the most successful of any shop I have opened, ever! Huge congratulations to Team Clevedon. Brilliant. Crazy opening mid-pandemic? I dunno – as that great philosopher said: “Who dares wins, Rodney.”

Sri Lanka: Sad for tourism
Story: Foreign Office advises against all but essential travel to Sri Lanka Lynne Jordan: So sad, they need the tourism. Sri Lanka is still on my to-do list.
Wait times: I dread calling
Story: Supplier call wait times will hamper trade’s recovery, says TTNG chief Gillian Polyhos: Been trying since Friday to get through to a certain supplier. Janette Ashby: Same here, and they even have a live chat that is offline but says it operates from 9am to 5pm. It is now getting beyond a joke. I dread picking up the phone to call any supplier at the moment. Marshall Travel Agency Glasgow: Absolutely shocking the time it’s taking to get through. Emails are never responded to either.
