Singapore

champions sustainability Singapore is strengthening its reputation as ‘a city in nature’

Eco-friendly hotels, city parks and green attractions can be found all across Singapore, and now, visitors can enjoy quarantine-free travel to the destination via its Vaccinated Travel Lanes scheme. You don’t have to travel far in Singapore to enjoy its open spaces, whether it’s the vast wildlife reserves in the north, or the smaller parks down by the marina. Visitors should start at Gardens by the

Bay, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next year. Comprising 18 man-made supertrees, the majority of which can be found in the famous Supertree Grove, Gardens by the Bay is a lush oasis in the heart of the city, home to more than 1.5 million plants. There are also

two vertical conservatories, lakes, a flower dome, observatory and more. In 2022, the Pan Pacific Orchard, the hotel group’s first zero-waste property, will also open its doors. There will be four levels of gardens and systems for rainwater harvesting and recyclable water. Singapore has set ambitious sustainability

targets. This includes the Singapore Green Plan 2030, which will see a variety of initiatives that visitors to the city will be able to benefit from, including 550 hectares of nature parks, 820 miles of cycle networks and the planting of a million trees, all by 2030.

A city in nature Nature parks and green spaces pepper the landscape in Singapore. Mandai Wildlife Reserve is one such location that will welcome even more attractions to the already popular River Wonders, Asia’s only river-themed wildlife park and Night Safari. The new Rainforest Park and revamped Bird Park will give visitors the chance to explore even more flora and fauna across Singapore.

Fully vaccinated visitors who have had the second dose of their World Health Organization- approved vaccine more than 14 days ago should apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass between seven and 60 days before entry into Singapore. Travellers need to fly on a special VTL flight and carry with them proof of a negative Covid-19 test, taken within 48 hours of departure. They must also take a test on arrival at Changi Airport and isolate until they receive a negative result, usually within 24 hours.
