BA starts London City links to Channel isles


British Airways will start flying new routes to Jersey and Gibraltar from London City airport on June 25. The carrer will start with summer-only BA CityFlyer services to both destinations on Mondays and Fridays aboard Embraer E190s. One-way fares start at £42 to Jersey and £43 to Gibraltar. ba.com

Travel safety specialist offers risk assessment course for the trade


Agents and operators are being offered an online risk and safety training course which covers Covid-related topics. Travel safety and risk manage-


ment consultant Sanderson Phillips has launched the course, developed by travel and lifestyle specialists Atkin Jones and online travel training specialists Travilearn, for the travel industry. It is aimed at staff in sales,


product, operations and management, and covers risk areas such as building safety, transport, excursions and activities. It can be upgraded with tailored videos and extra modules by consultants on specific safety topics. The £50, 60-minute course

Travelport has unveiled its “next-generation” retailing platform, Travelport+, which replaces legacy brands Galileo, Apollo and Worldspan. The technology provider says its “multi-source


content distribution” platform will “accelerate industry innovation” by offering “a simplified, capability-rich marketplace for travel retailing”. Travelport+ brings together flight options from


low-cost carriers, airlines with New Distribution Capability (NDC) and fares available on consolidator ATPCO in one place along with Travelport’s car, hotel and rail content. There is a “trip manager” and “enhanced airline ticket exchange tools”. It stores all components of a traveller’s journey


in one place so they can be retrieved, modified and combined “in any manner possible” by agents – and


Silversea to restart in June with Silver Moon cruises from Greece


Silversea Cruises is to resume services on June 18 and will require all passengers and crew to be fully vaccinated. Ten-day round-trip itineraries from Greece on new flagship Silver Moon will call at Santorini, Paros, Mykonos and Crete, as well as Israel and Cyprus. Jet2 unveils flights to Innsbruck from three UK airports for 2022


Jet2.com has introduced services to Innsbruck from Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol for summer 2022. It will operate weekly flights from Birmingham and Bristol and a twice-weekly service from Manchester.
