Qatar Airways boosts winter capacity from London and Dublin
Qatar Airways is raising flight frequency to Doha from the UK and Ireland for the winter. The carrier will operate a record
10 flights a day from Heathrow, up from eight this summer, and 17 flights a week from Dublin, up from 14 currently. Manchester’s frequency will also
rise, from 21 to 24 flights a week. The extra flights are part of
Qatar Airways’ hike in winter capacity to 15 destinations from Hamad International airport. Chief commercial officer
Thierry Antinori said: “Qatar Airways is consistently witnessing a steady rise in demand for our services to some of the most prominent destinations in the world, most notably London, Dublin, Cape Town and Sao Paulo.”

G Adventures has launched trips in eastern Europe exploring “under the radar” Moldova and Romania. The small-group adventure company offers
standalone seven-day tours of each country, plus a 14-day itinerary combining the two. Product vice-president Yves Marceau said: “These
are two really exciting and beautiful parts of the world that remain under the radar for tourists. “Each itinerary is designed to take travellers to places
that don’t experience overcrowding but have so much to offer, from incredible landscapes and wildlife to food, wine, history and tranquillity.” The seven-day Moldova Discovery tour begins in
the capital Chisinau and includes a wine-tasting in a limestone cave and visit to the Monastery of Saharna.
Jet2 launches summer 2026 link to Chania from East Midlands
Jet2.com has added Chania in Crete to its summer 2026 programme from East Midlands airport. The new weekly Tuesday service will operate from May 26 until October 27 and will be the first link from the airport to Crete’s western region. The route means the airline will offer 10 Greek destinations from East Midlands next summer.

Shandrani Beachcomber in Mauritius is to reopen in October following a revamp. Rooms have been updated and three new room categories created, including luxury Rooftop Rooms. An adult-only wing has been added featuring 69 of the resort’s 327 rooms and offering access to a private beach, dedicated dining area and beachfront bar.
