EasyJet Holidays: Agents will still dynamically package
Story: EasyJet Holidays brings forward trade launch date David Pascoe: I feel easyJet Holidays should remain direct-sell and not follow Jet2holidays. EasyJet could make higher profits as a direct-sell brand like Virgin Holidays and British Airways Holidays. Loads of agents will still dynamically package holidays using easyJet flights and I am sure these will in some cases be cheaper. Matthew Ruth: EasyJet Holidays would only do it [stay direct-sell] if they make money out of it. It’s expensive to direct-sell nowadays with the cost of clicks; agents are a great source of customers. Andy Tomlinson: Next key thing for Travel Weekly to establish: will there be price parity between trade prices and direct prices?
The best of your letters, comments and social media this week TV show: C4’s Holiday Secrets was complete rubbish
Story: Trade slams TV show Holiday Secrets’ last-minute booking claims I watched the Channel 4 programme Holiday Secrets with incredulity: no family in their right mind would book a holiday that involves changing rooms twice on a week’s holiday. Once the straight comparison could not be made, the whole thing became flawed. What were the producers thinking? Patrick Doyle
This programme was complete rubbish. Best advice is to use a travel agent who knows what they are doing. Carol Kirkham, Kirkham Travel
