New ship Disney Wish features ‘first Disney attraction at sea’
Samantha Mayling
The newest ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, Disney Wish, will set sail for the first time next summer from Florida. Bookings open to the general public on May 27, with the first sailing on the 4,000-passenger ship on
June 9, 2022. Wish will offer three and four-night cruises to
Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, departing from its home port in Port Canaveral. The ship will feature a new attraction called
AquaMouse, described as ‘the first Disney attraction at sea’. The ride will send passengers through 760ft of winding tubes above the upper decks. Danny Handke, senior creative director for
Walt Disney Imagineering, said: “With AquaMouse, we’re combining theme park thrills, iconic Disney animation and the magic of ocean cruising to create a one-of-a-kind water attraction unlike anything we’ve

Cinderella, and there will be a pool district with the theme of Mickey and friends on decks 11 and 12, with six pools and entertainment. Families with young children can visit a Toy Story-
themed district featuring a splash zone, wading pool, family waterslide and smoothie bar. Guests aged 18 and older can visit Quiet Cove, a secluded adult-only district offering a bar, spa and panoramic views of the ocean from an infinity pool. Also for adults is Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, a bar styled as a spaceship. There will be a theatrical dining experience
based on the film Frozen, called Arendelle: A Frozen
Dining Adventure. Q Disney confirmed adults boarding its ‘Disney Magic at Sea’ UK sailings this summer will require “full Covid-19 vaccination”. The line put its departures, from four UK ports, on sale last week.
