TravelPerk has created an API online feed so travel agencies can offer live travel restrictions on their websites and apps. The TravelSafe link provides information about Covid testing and quarantine requirements for both arrival and return destinations. It is available on a monthly subscription.

Tui launches summer 2022 river and ocean cruise programmes
One of Tui’s three river cruise vessels will be going all-inclusive as standard for 2022. Tui River Cruises’ summer
2022 programme goes on sale today (November 5) as does that for ocean line Marella Cruises. The all-inclusive offering on
Tui Maya will include alcoholic drinks and premium coffee. Prices for a seven-night
Moselle Valley: Vines & Views sailing on Tui Maya start at £1,349, departing April 1, 2022. Marella will operate six new
itineraries in 2022. The line has put 18 cruises on sale, with a further five due in December, including one new itinerary on Marella Discovery, which will homeport in Palma, Majorca.

Tui unveils Teesside, Doncaster and Stansted routes for 2022

Tui has released its summer 2022 programme after projecting demand from cutomers who want to “make up” for not being able to go away this year. The UK’s largest operator is offering 62 destinations
from 16 UK airports for summer 2022. The programme includes new routes to Boa Vista in
Cape Verde from Stansted and Doncaster Sheffield, as well as increased frequency on some existing routes. Teesside airport departures return for the first time
since 2013 with weekly flights to Palma. Tui’s summer 2022 range includes “thousands” of
free child places, deposits from £75 per person and zero deposits on direct debit bookings made online. The operator expects Florida to continue to prove
popular with families. It said 40% of its programme to the state for summer 2021 was already sold as many families had deferred their 2020 bookings to next year.
Sofitel London Heathrow introduces Covid test and stay package for £179

Sofitel London Heathrow is offering a ‘Test and Rest’ package, allowing customers to take a PCR Covid-19 test and stay the night as they await the result. Guests submit a saliva sample that is taken away for analysis by UK-based biotech firm Halo, and receive the result on an app. Test and Rest packages at the Arora Group hotel, connected to Terminal 5, start at £179 at weekends.

Tui expects increased demand for higher-end
accommodation to continue in 2022. For summer 2021, it is offering 233 options in 155 all-inclusive four and five-star hotels, as more than 40% of customers surveyed expressed a preference to stay in this type of property, including villas or rooms with private pools. For both summers, Tui is offering 150 villas with
flights and car hire included in Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, mainland Spain, Portugal, Italy and Florida, as 18% of customers said they would look to book such a trip. More than eight out of 10 (86%) Tui customers
expect to have gone on holiday again by next summer, with 57% expecting to book a Mediterranean beach break, according to a survey of 4,000 customers. Tui said Greece was the “standout destination” based on 2021 bookings, with Turkey, Egypt, Mexico and the Dominican Republic also popular.

BA restarts Heathrow links to New
York Newark, Riyadh and Santiago British Airways is resuming three long-haul routes this week. Heathrow flights restarted to New York Newark airport on November 1 and to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 2, and will be followed by Santiago, Chile, on Saturday (November 7). BA has already resumed services to European destinations including Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
