from Belfast, and is introducing Boeing 737-800s on the Tenerife and Gran Canaria routes. At Newcastle, the number of
weekly flights to Alicante will rise from 11 to 12, while the frequency to Zante will double to twice- weekly. There will also be more seats on routes to Faro, Menorca, the Canary Islands, Majorca and Halkidiki, while Antalya’s season will be extended to November.
At Belfast, capacity to Faro will
rise in the early and late summer. The season will be extended for Dalaman, Paphos and Naples. The move follows increased demand from local holidaymakers for package holidays to popular destinations. Steve Heapy, chief executive of
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said the expansion demonstrated that its combination of “great-value package holidays and family- friendly flights” was working. The investment in larger aircraft
represented a “huge investment”, he said, adding: “It gives local holidaymakers even more choice
and flexibility.”

ITC Travel Group unveils 14 offers in first spring campaign
ITC Travel Group has launched its first-ever spring campaign, featuring a variety of offers to stimulate bookings. The campaign will form part
of an annual calendar of agent campaigns and follows the operator’s recent ‘£100 in your pocket’ trade incentive. It includes 14 offers, ranging
from free nights and flights to discounts. The move follows tough Caribbean trading conditions in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in late 2017. Client relationship director Lee Marshall said: “The market needs to be stimulated, so given our strong supplier relationships, it’s within our power to make that happen. It’s tough out there, so clients and agents alike are looking to be inspired.” The featured offers include:
seven nights for the price of five at Cobblers Cove, Barbados, a saving of £1,125 per couple; a 30% discount on accommodation and kids eat free at Windjammer Landing, Saint Lucia, saving up to £780 per family; and a 40% discount on accommodation at Shrangri- La’s Rasa Sayang, Malaysia, saving up to £585 per family.
