Disneyland Paris showcases new park featuring World of Frozen. Andrew McQuarrie reports

D

isneyland Paris chiefs revealed upcoming park Disney Adventure World, featuring World

of Frozen, will open on March 29, 2026, as Travel Weekly joined a media preview of the site. A total of €2 billion has been

invested in transforming the existing second park, Walt Disney Studios Park, into an expanded space that will be nearly double the size of the current offering. President Natacha Rafalski

said: “March 29 will mark a historic milestone for Disneyland Paris with the transformation of our second park into Disney Adventure World and the opening of its spectacular new expansion featuring World of Frozen.” In addition to World of Frozen,

the new park will feature two existing “immersive lands” – Worlds of Pixar and Marvel Avengers Campus. A fourth world, inspired by The

Lion King, will open later. Rafalski said the changes represent

“the most ambitious transformation in our resort’s history” and “push the boundaries of storytelling”. World of Frozen will invite guests to step into Arendelle, the kingdom

that stars in the film franchise, with features including a 36-metre-high North Mountain crowned by Elsa’s Ice Palace. The Frozen Ever After attraction

will take guests on a boat ride alongside Anna, Elsa and their friends.

Character meetings In Arendelle, there will also be opportunities for personal interactions with characters, including a true-to-size Olaf created through “next-generation robotic figures”. A 15-minute show, A Celebration in

Arendelle, will take place several times a day and focus on the Snowflower Festival. The Oscar-winning writers of Let It Go have composed new music for the production, which unfolds in Arendelle Bay. Dining in Arendelle will be

available in quick-service restaurant Nordic Crowns Tavern, while souvenirs will be on offer from Arendelle Boutique. Other features of Disney

Adventure World will include a teacup-style attraction inspired by the film Tangled, as well as the Regal View Restaurant & Lounge where guests will be able to dine in the company of Disney princesses.

AGENTS’ FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Sue Lindsay, Brilliant Travel “The new park is amazing – it’s so much more than I was expecting. So many people love Frozen, so World of Frozen will be a real highlight. People will enjoy how immersive it is – they will become villagers in

Arendelle and get the chance to meet Olaf. The night-time show will also be popular.”

Kiera Broomfield, Attraction Tickets “The opportunities to meet Anna and Elsa [from Frozen] are amazing because a lot of our customers want to meet them. I’ll also be telling people about the fireworks show because the fact there will now be night-time

shows in each park means Disneyland Paris trips will need to be two days or more.”

Rachel Dartnall-Smith, Pebble Shore Travel “It’s been amazing hearing about Disney Adventure World. I’ll tell clients to [buy] Disney Premier Access Ultimate and to book the extra character experiences as soon as possible. I think the new park will boost

Disneyland Paris bookings because multigenerational families will want to come again”.

LIGHT SHOW ‘PUSHES BOUNDARIES’

Disneyland Paris is claiming a “world first” with Disney Cascade of Lights, its night-time show in Disney Adventure World, through its blend of water-based and aerial drones. The show, which will take place each evening, will feature 379 drones,

including “aquatic drone technology” developed exclusively for the project. From immersive staging, guests will view a wide range of elements,

including water screens, choreographed fountains, large-scale projections, dynamic lighting, special effects and pyrotechnics, which will showcase Mulan, Hercules and Moana, among other characters. Disneyland Paris said: “Pushing the boundaries of innovation, the

production will feature the world’s first integration of a revolutionary aquatic drone system along with next-generation aerial drones, creating breathtaking choreographies that unfold simultaneously across the sky and the water.” Ben Spalding, the show’s producer, said 16 flamethrowers and 32 fireworks are included in the production.
