Ikon Pass offers access to US and Canada ski spots

Some of the US and Canada’s most iconic ski destinations have come together to offer a season pass allowing visitors unlimited year-round access.


The new Ikon Pass has been launched by the Alterra Mountain Company. Agents can earn 10% commission and operators are offered wholesale rates. The Ikon Base Pass costs $699 per adult and offers unlimited access to eight destinations and restricted five-day access to a further 17. The full Ikon Pass costs $999


and offers unlimited access to 12 destinations plus seven days to a further 13 with no blackout dates. Reduced teen and child rates are also offered. There are 26 destinations including Aspen, Deer Valley and


Copper Mountain in the Rockies, and Mammoth Mountain and Big Bear Mountain in California. It also includes Sugarloaf, Killington Resort and Stratton in the east of the US, and Tremblant, Blue Mountain and SkiBig3 in Canada. Kristin Rust, spokeswoman for


Alterra, said the pass was perfect for ski safaris and visitors who want to experience more than one resort during their stay. “We want to make sure anyone


who works in the industry recommends this product to their customers. The UK is a really big market for us,” she said. Alterra plans to invest


$130 million in its resorts in 2018-19 and $555 million over the next five years. “Our commitment is there to grow this sport and grow visitation,” added Rust. She revealed Alterra is also
