Although many travel firms are preparing for the new GDPR data protection regime, they are unlikely to have fully considered the implications for employer-employee relations. Due to the mandatory requirement to report all breaches to the Information Commissioner’s Office, and the greater emphasis on prosecution or punitive fines, it is likely that breaches will lead to more serious HR situations arising and result in staff being penalised where previously this had not

Story: New SPAA president demands unity to fight for agents’ interests SPAA president Ken McLeod’s speech at the association’s annual dinner in Glasgow last week was passionate, truthful – and straight to the point. We work in a wonderful industry. But as Ken (pictured) pointed out, why can’t we unite more readily? And why must we always leave it too late to fight our corner on issues and be afraid about upsetting someone? We should all say it like it is and not be afraid to face the consequences. It makes the conversation so much easier when you say what you feel rather say what you think you have to. Well done, Ken. There was also a fabulous from-the-heart speech from
