Celebrity Cruises plans to host 100 frontline agents on new ship Celebrity Edge in May 2019 and has beefed up its UK sales team.
The 2,900-passenger ship will
launch in November and sail itineraries from Fort Lauderdale. The hundred agents will have
a chance to see the vessel at a two-night event on May 13, 2019, when Edge visits Southampton, but they will have to “earn” a place. Jo Rzymowska, Celebrity Cruises
vice-president and managing director for the UK, Ireland and Asia, said: “We will be taking more than 100 agents on board. They will all have to earn their way on to the ship.” In addition, 40 senior figures
from leading cruise agencies have been invited to visit the ship at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Nantes, France, on September 13, Rzymowska added.

NEW SUITE CATEGORY: There are six two-storey villas on Celebrity Edge Celebrity has also announced a
$500 million fleetwide makeover, called Celebrity Revolution, starting with Celebrity Millennium in 2019. The programme is due to be completed by 2023. Agents can learn about Celebrity
Revolution through the revamped four-module Cruising for Excellence training programme. Rzymowska said: “It is really important our trade partners have the confidence in the Celebrity proposition and that it’s the same offering across the fleet.
“The level of investment is significant. It is not just a new carpet and a lick of paint.” Meanwhile, Celebrity has
bolstered its UK & Ireland sales team with four appointments: Kat Hulatt, Janna Thomson, Michael Young-Richards and Valerie Murphy. “As Celebrity Cruises continues
to grow and develop, it is really important we take our trade partners with us and look after
them,” Rzymowska said.
