RETAILERS MUST ADD EXTRA SECURITY LAYERS SAYS UK
The United Kingdom’s National Cyber Security Centre has published its latest advice to support online retailers, hospitality providers, and utility services as to how they protect themselves and their customers from cyber criminals. The guidance encourages organisations to add extra layers of security on top of passwords to authenticate customers. Organisations are also advised on what steps they should take if their brand has been spoofed online. Authentication methods must go beyond passwords and use two-step verifi cation, OAuth, and one-time passwords. The Centre is a part of the UK’s signals intelligence agency, GCHQ. |
