Plastics Europe Polska presents the latest industry data industry update


According to the plastics processing industry data published by PlasticsEurope, in 2017 the plastics industry in Poland was rapidly


developing. This steady


upward trend has been maintained in Poland for over 12 years, with demand for plastics now ranking Poland sixth in Europe. “Since 2016 global demand for


plastics has increased by more than 7% compared to the previous year and has now exceeded 3.3 million tons, however the Polish


resistance to recycling amongst young consumers


A new survey from PlasticsEurope and RECOUP, with over 4,100 participants from the UK, Germany and Poland, reveals that there is a lack of awareness about recycling amongst the 18-24 age group. Less than 1 out of 5 young people


in Poland recycle plastics (29% in the UK, 24% in Germany and 18% in Poland). When it comes to the average population, only a third of Poles recycle (45% in the UK, 51% in Germany, 35% in Poland). In Poland, respondents cited barriers such as less willingness (17%) or inconvenience to recycle (17%). | plasticseurope.org

Last month’s Plastech conference has been voted a major success as over 180 delegates,


representing 95 companies from fi ve countries


(Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary) listened to the 27 presentations and speeches, thematic workshops and case studies. This year’s edition of the event took place at the Folwark Conference Centre in Łochów. With an overall theme of ‘From an idea to the industry - design and development of plastic products’, the event was once again sponsored by the Wadim Plast company.
