REDEFINING THE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE – A VIEWPOINT FROM ASIA AND CHINA
WHEN: WEDNESDAY 8 NOVEMBER 10.30-12.30
WHERE: SOUTH GALLERY ROOM 7 & 8
A VIEWPOINT FROM ASIA 10.30-11.30 – Asia now represents some of the fastest growth in the world, not only in travel and tourism but across many parts of the economy. How can European operators and suppliers best understand and service the travel behaviour of Asian clients and how can they tap into the potential of this market?
The session will focus on Asia as a whole and China in particular and look at some of the key trends that are shaping the growth of tourism, from destination development to digital marketing and personalisation.
RISE OF THE CHINESE INDEPENDENT TRAVELLER 11.30-12.30 – From a market that was dominated by large tour groups until very recently, in recent years the Chinese Independent Travel market has been growing quickly. Their customer journey, spending behaviour and expectations are very different.
While the Chinese market
represents a huge business opportunity due to its size, growth rate and spending power, most destinations, suppliers and intermediaries have, truthfully, been struggling to capitalise effectively due to a variety of barriers including cultural, regulatory and geographical. Diversifi cation of the customer base along with increased maturity of wants and needs represent exciting new opportunities to service providers in the tourism industry that previously may have stayed away from the Chinese market.
Attend this session to hear from
leading experts in the fi eld at the launch of a new channel for deep insight and analysis of the Chinese outbound market.
