AN INDUSTRY EVENT THAT KEEPS EVOLVING TO INSPIRE

Southern Manufacturing and Electronics 2018 enthralled and educated attendees, with a mix of exhibitors from the manufacturing and electronics sectors, and a topical and informative seminar programme.

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2018 was a truly notable show; as well as marking an impressive 20 years as the UK’s largest annual industrial technology show, it provided an early opportunity for visitors to experience the prestigious Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, the UK’s newest exhibition venue. Around 7,700 visitors passed through the doors of the brand new 20,000m2 Hall 1 building over the three days of the show - the first time the building had been used for a public event, slightly ahead of its full official opening in time for the 2018 Farnborough

bolstering the economy to face the challenges of Brexit and beyond. The message from Southern 2018 was one of optimism. Show director, Phil Valentine, noted: “There is a lot of investment going on as businesses gear- up to make the most of the opportunities that an ascendant manufacturing sector is bringing. Encouragingly, we are still seeing growth in the number of continental European businesses taking part in the show, and this I feel underlines the fact that the business
