26 CPD FOCUS SENIOR LAUNCHES NEW RIBA APPROVED CPD
Senior Architectural Systems has created a new RIBA approved CPD seminar which explores the ‘Evolution of Thermally Broken Window Profi les’. The new CPD has been developed to both inform and support architects and designers in the specifi cation of thermally effi cient window systems to meet the new lower U-value targets as outlined
by Part L of the Building Regulations. The seminar looks specifi cally at the development of aluminium window systems, and the latest generation of windows that feature the innovative use of polyurethane foam for even greater effi ciency.

Urban Front are now presenting ‘Specifying Hardwood Timber External Doorsets’ CPD workshops online and can accommodate up to 20 participants for each available webinar date, or you can book a face to face if you prefer. The objective of this CPD presentation is to enthuse and inform architects about specifying hardwood internal and external doors it also includes detailed information

This seminar looks at stair nosings, fl ooring accessories such as skirtings, covings and capping strips, and fl oor fi nishes and transitions including entrance matting. It explores how each of these can be specifi ed to ensure adherence to all relevant aspects of Building Regulations, BS 8300- 2:2018 and the Equality Act. There are three main aims for this CPD: • Explain how to safely fi nish fl oorcoverings at critical points such as stairways, wall junctions, and doorway transitions. • Show how to specify fl ooring accessories correctly and successfully. • Guidance on the legislative and regulatory framework. Aspects which can affect the effi cacy of fl ooring details will be explored. These are things such as the importance of colour options, fi tting and maintenance issues which should be considered at specifi cation, and environmental and legal concerns. A Q&A session is available after the seminar. You can book Quantum’s CPD on Detailing Flooring Finishes by emailing info@quantumfl

LAUNCHES NEW FIRE PROTECTION CPD ADF03_Urban
Front_CPD.indd 1
ROCKWOOL has launched a new CPD (Continuing Professional
08/03/2023 14:50 Development),
‘Essential Principles – Passive Fire Protection Solutions’, to give construction professionals a deeper understanding of the 12 key principles of passive fi re
protection and how
these are applied to different building projects.
Presenting
each of the essential principles as defi ned by the RISCAuthority Design Guide, the CPD will demonstrate how they work to reduce the risk of fi re in buildings. The module will also discuss the importance of compartmentation, structural fi re protection, inspection, maintenance and much more. Available to book online now at
rockwool.com/ uk, the 60-minute session is offered as an in-person CPD and will allow designers, fi re engineers, occupiers, consultants and building owners to strengthen their understanding of effective passive fi re protection methods. Attendees will also learn about the ecological and environmental impacts of a building fi re and understand who shares liability if a fi re occurs. ‘Essential Principles – Passive Fire Protection Solutions’ is the latest addition to ROCKWOOL’s expanding range of CPDs, which help specifi ers and contractors better understand the role of insulation in the built environment.
